The Mississippi Recycling Coalition is non-profit organization that works to promote and grow recycling efforts across Mississippi. Our mission is to complement, promote and encourage responsible solid waste management, which includes source reduction, reuse, recycling and composting programs.
Bringing People Together
We bring together professionals, organizations, businesses and industry, institutions, government agencies, and individuals for one common purpose: to promote and grow recycling efforts in Mississippi. Through meetings, such as our State Recycling Conference and Recycling Awareness Day, we strive to educate and build awareness on the many benefits of recycling.
MRC is managed by a Board of Directors, which includes representatives from across the state and an array of organizations.
Schools and Students
We offer grants to Mississippi schools looking to start or to grow an existing recycling program, and we provide scholarships to our state’s college students with an environmental science career track or who are working to promote recycling on college campuses.
Recognizing Achievements
Mississippi is home to many recycling champions, from nonprofits to companies who are making tremendous gains in recycling. Each year, our Environmental Hero Awards program recognizes these outstanding efforts.
